Benjamin Franklin once said, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” Our investment in the public education of Arizona’s children today will pay dividends for years to come. A brighter future for Arizona begins with world-class K-12 public education for all of our children.
Arizona can no longer be satisfied trailing the nation in public education. Instead of working to improve and empower our public schools, current leadership is trying to dismantle public education in Arizona every chance they get. Arizona’s school children deserve better! Diverting taxpayer funds from the public sector to the private sector only benefits those who directly profit from it, not the over 1 million public school children.
Every parent has the right to choose where their child attends school in Arizona but in reality not every family has the ability to exercise that right. The circumstances of distance, transportation, costs, etc. may determine that choice for them. Therefore, every public school in Arizona should have the means to prepare our children to excel in a competitive global economy.
Strengthening Arizona’s K-12 public education is not only an investment in our children but also pays economic dividends allowing us to attract companies looking to bring jobs to Arizona.
I know the opportunities my education has afforded me. As your State Senator, I will fight to ensure Arizona’s children are not robbed of theirs.
